King's Baseball Posts Identical 9-0, 9-0 sweep of Muhlenberg

KING'S BASEBALL SWEEPS MUHLENBERG, 9-0 AND 9-0
 
ORLANDO, FLA -- The King's College baseball team improved its season mark to 6-3 as the Monarchs posted a doubleheader sweep of Muhlenberg College Friday in Orlando, Fla.  King's won both games by the identical score of 9-0.

In the opener, King's hurler Eric Matula pitched a complete-game four-hitter with seven strikeouts. Rob Fravel was 4-for-4 with one run and a double while Jon Venarchick finished 2-for-3 with two runs and four RBI, including a two-run home run in the first inning and a two-run double in the fourth. Matula also aided his own cause at the plate by going 2-for-4 with three runs and a RBI. Brian Mikus added two hits and two runs while Matt Unger also chipped in with two hits.

In the second game, Dan Jenkins tossed a complete-game one hitter, striking out five batters without allowing a walk.  Offensively, Gracjan Kraszewski was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Rob Fravel went 2-for-3 with two runs while Pat Harsch and Mike Fignar were both 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Unger was 1-for-4 with a two-run double while Matula was also 1-for-4 with a double.

King's will close out its Spring Break trip to Orlando on Saturday with a doubleheader against Northland College of Wisconsin at 9:30 a.m.
