KING'S BASEBALL POST 10-6 VICTORY OVER SUSQUEHANNA
 
WILKES-BARRE- The King's College baseball team posted a 10-6 comeback victory in a non-conference match against Landmark Conference regular-season champion Susquehanna University Wednesday at Lipo Field.
 
With the win, King's improved to 20-14 overall while Susquehanna slipped to 21-12.
 
Susquehanna scored early in the first inning building a 5-0 lead when Erik Tuomisto hit a two-run double to left center field, Kurt Yanelli followed that with a single through the left side to drive in a run. The Crusaders built on that lead during the top of the second when Tuomisto hit a sacrifice fly to center field to drive home Justin Portzline to make the score 6-0.
 
King's was able to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second and third innings when Matt Feci singled to centerfield to drive in Gracjan Kraszewski. Eric Matula hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield later in the inning to bring home the second run of the inning. In the bottom of the third inning Jon Venarchick tripled and later scored on a wild pitch to make things 6-2.
 
The Monarchs then continued their comeback with a six-run inning in the bottom of the fourth when Matt Unger drove in Mike Fignar with a sacrifice fly to centerfield. Rob Fravel singled through the right side while Kraszewski doubled into left field to bring in two runs. Feci hit a single to left center field to plate two more runs while Fignar poked a single through the left side to drive in the final run of the inning. King's would strike again for the last time in the bottom of the seventh inning when Unger hit a solo homerun to left centerfield.
 
Feci led King's going 3-for-5 with one double and three RBI. Both Fravel and Troianiello were 2-for-5 with Fravel driving in one run. Fignar was 2-for-3 with a RBI while Kraszewski was 2-for-4 and one RBI. King's compiled 14 hits in the game with nine RBI.
 
Tom Rozelle picked up his second win of the season by pitching two innings of relief of Andrew DeGiacomo who started for King's.
 
King's returns to action on Thursday with a 4:00 p.m. home game against The University of Scranton. Prior to the game the teams will finish a 10-10 game that was suspended for darkness on April 14. The game will resume at 3:30 p.m. in the eight inning.
