KING'S TENNIS WINS 9TH STRAIGHT WITH 6-3 VICTORY OVER FDU TO CLINCH FREEDOM CONFERENCE TOURNEY BERTH
MADISON, NJ -- The King's College men's tennis team post its ninth straight victory of the season and clinched a Freedom Conference playoff berth with a 6-3 victory over host FDU-Florham Thursday in Madison, NJ.
With the win, the Monarchs improved to 10-4 overall and 5-0 in Freedom Conference action.
King's opened the meet by winning two of the three doubles contests before clinching the match by capturing four of the six singles bouts.
David Kaluzavich was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in singles while Tim Carroll earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Marco Stallone posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph while Blake Bonser was a 6-3, 6-2 winner. In doubles, Bonser teamed with Povl Schmidt to register an 8-2 victory while Carroll and Jon Ferrie were 8-3 winners.
King's returns to action Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. home matchup with Manhattanville College at Kirby Park.
