King’s Women’s Volleyball Picks up a Pair of Victories at the Old Westbury Tournament

KING'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS OLD WESTBURY AND PLATTSBURGH
 
Old Westbury, NY— The King's College women's volleyball team started off the SUNY Old Westbury tournament today, with a pair of 3-0 victories defeating Old Westbury and Plattsburgh.
 
In the match against Old Westbury, the Lady Monarchs recorded scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-15. Leading the way offensively was Kaitlyn Malshefski with 10 kills. Kat Clerici contributed seven kills and five blocks. Danielle Belfanti notched 25 assists, while Jillian Foster added 13 digs, 13 service points and six aces.
 
The Lady Monarchs earned their second win of the night against Plattsburgh by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-19. Malshefski led the team with 12 kills, while Clerici added eight kills and three solo blocks. Belfanti continued her solid showing at the setter position with 28 assists, 14 serving points and three aces. Colleen Grosenick also had a good night with 10 service points and seven digs.
 
Tournament play will resume Sunday, at noon and 2:00 p.m. against McDaniel College and SUNY Farmingdale.
