King's Volleyball Finishes 2nd at Old Westbury Tourney

KING'S VOLLEYBALL FINISHES SECOND AT OLD WESTBURY TOURNEY
 
OLD WESTBURY, NY -- The King's College volleyball team finished in second place at the Old Westbury Tournament. After going 2-0 on Saturday, the Lady Monarchs were 1-1 on Sunday to finish the event with a 3-1 mark.

On Sunday, King's defeated SUNY-Farmingdale 3-0 by scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-17.  The Lady Monarchs, who improved to 8-3 on the year, also fell to McDaniel College 3-0 by scores of 15-15, 25-19, 25-8. 

Against Farmingdale, King's was led by Kaitlyn Malshefski with 11 kills and one solo block. Kat Clerici added eight kills and one solo block while Danielle Belfanti distributed 20 assists with 10 service points. Jillian Foster and Shannon Ellis tallied 11 and eight digs respectively.

In the loss to McDaniel, Malshefski led the team with seven kills and three digs while Clerici added five kills and two blocks. Belfanti handed out 14 assists and four digs while Foster raked in 17 digs. Colleen Grosenick chipped in with three kills.

King's will be idle until Friday and Saturday when the team competes in the Albright College Invitational in Reading.
