WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPPED 2-1 OVERTIME HEARTBREAKER TO LYCOMING
WILLIAMSPORT – The host Lycoming College women's soccer team sent the game to overtime with a goal with just under two minutes left in regulation, then won the game with another score just 2:29 into the extra session as the Warriors posted a dramatic 2-1 victory over a game King's College squad Tuesday in Williamsport.
With the win, Lycoming improved to 6-4-1 while King's slipped to 3-7.
King's took a 1-0 lead when Becky Chateaneuf scored on a breakaway 17:32 into the game. The score remained the same until 1:37 remained when Lycoming's Leslie Kester converted off an assist from Sami Jo Bell to knot the score at 1-1.
The game headed into overtime where the Warriors carried the momentum, pushing across the winning goal when Bell scored off a corner kick by Victoria Mitchell just 2:29 into overtime.
Lycoming held a slim 12-10 advantage in shots along with a 7-1 lead in corner kicks. King's goalie Racheal Donatiello made five saves while Lycoming keepers Brie Pepe and Cjelaeas Powers combined for nine stops.
