KING'S VOLLEYBALL FINISHES TOURNEY WITH 2-2 MARK
WILKES-BARRE – After finishing the first day of the King's Invitational Tournament with a 2-0 mark, the Lady Monarch volleyball squad did a complete about-face, dropping both contests on Saturday.
In its first match of the day, King's fell to Marywood 3-1 by scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-21. In its final match against eventual champion Wilkes, King's also fell 3-1 by scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-18. In both matches, King's won the first game, but dropped the next three. In the end, KIng's placed seocnd in the event
Against Marywood, Kaitlyn Malshefski led the way with 21 kills and 11 digs. Danielle Belfanti added 24 digs and 12 service points. Emily Kline tallied eight kills while Kelly Greenway distributed 33 assists. Against Wilkes, Malshefski posted 12 kills while Belfanti registered 29 digs. Kline had five kills while Greenway tallied 24 assists. Jillian Foster chipped in with 12 digs.
