KING'S MEN'S BASKETBALL AT PENN STATE HAZLETON

HAZLETON – The King's College men's basketball team prepped for its return to Freedom Conferenc play with a 75-50 victory over host Penn State Hazleton Monday in Hazleton.  With the win King's improved to 6-8 while PSU fell to 2-8.

The started out evenly as the teams engaged in a 11-11 tie with 13:56 left in the first half.  But a jumper by Kyle Stackhouse, a bucket down low from Kevin Conroy and a three-pointer from Matt Fiorino capped a 7-0 Monarch run as King's took a 18-11 lead with 10:50 on the clock.

With King's holding a 20-15, the Monarchs blew the game open with a 17-0 run, capped by back-to-back inside baskets from Conroy to give the Monarchs a 37-15 lead with 3:12 left in the half. The Monarchs settled for a 40-22 half-time lead when Penn State's Keiser Zamora canned a three-pointer with 0:13 to play. Conroy led the Monarchs with 12 points at the break

In the second half, the Monarchs opened their biggest lead of the game at 26 points when a Kyle Stackhouse jumper with 14:27 to go lifted King's to a 51-25 lead.  The Lions would draw no closer than 14 points the rest of the way as Monarch coach J.P. Andrejko was able to substitute liberally.

Wagner, Conroy, and Jim Schule led King's with 12 points each while Kyle Stackhouse and Mike McCready added nine and eight points respectively.  Reills Recihwein led Penn State Hazleton with 19 points.
