KING'S GRAPPLERS EARN 20-12 WIN OVER YORK TO CONTINUE HOT STREAK
YORK -- The King's College wrestling team won its fifth straight match as the Monarchs posted a 20-12 victory over host York College in a Metropolitan Conference matchup Saturday in York.
With the win, King's improved to 12-8 on the year and 3-2 in Metropolitan Conference matches. The Monarchs have also won 10-of-11 dual meets in January since ending the fiirst semester with a 2-7 record. York, meanwhile, slipped to 6-18.
King's received major decisions from Chris Puorro (149) and Taylor Green (157) to take a 11-6 lead. After a York decision at 165, the Monarchs won three of the last four bouts to seal the victory. David Foley registered a 7-4 win at 174; Peter Dwyer secured a close 5-4 decision at 197, while heavyweight Chris Rash won a 7-6 thriller in four overtimes. Tony Miele also contributed with a decision at 133 for the Monarchs.
