King's dropped a 3-0 decision to Delaware Valley on Sunday

KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO DELAWARE VALLEY, 3-0

WILKES-BARRE – Dana Gentile scored two goals and added an assist as the visiting Delaware Valley College women's soccer team posted a 3-0 victory over host King's College Sunday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, Delaware Valley improved to 4-8-1 overall and 1-1 in Freedom Conference play while King's slipped to 1-12 and 0-2 in conference games.

Delaware Valley took a 1-0 lead at 18:57 of the first half when Gentile dribbled through two defenders and placed shot inside left post from 15 yards out.

Gentile added her second goal at 25:12 of the second half when her shot from the right side reached the net just inside the left post got a 2-0 Aggie advantage. Marianne Morton made it 3-0 game when she scored off an assist from Gentile just 2:55 later.

Delaware Valley held a 18-2 advantage in shots and led 4-1 in corner kicks. King's goalie Melissa D'Aniello made eight saves while Aggie keeper Julie Burnell did not have to make a save in the game.

King's returns to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. contest at Misericordia University.
