FIELD HOCKEY HOSTS MISERICORDIA THURSDAY AFTERNOON IN KEY FREEDOM MATCHUP
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College field hockey team looks to keep their Freedom Conference mark perfect as they welcome league-rival Misericordia University to McCarthy Stadium Thursday at 1:00 p.m.

King's enters the contest with a 9-2 overall mark and 2-0 in conference play following a 4-2 win at Delaware Valley College on Tuesday. The Lady Monarchs are led by Calli Berryman with 25 points on nine goals and seven assists. Jenera Quinones follows with 24 points on nine goals and six assists, having recently been named Freedom Conference player of the week. Goalie Erin McGinley has been steady in net for King's boasting a 1.07 goals against average with 45 saves in 11 matches played.
Misericordia stands 7-5 on the year, 3-0 in Freedom matches after posting a 1-0 victory at FDU-Florham on Tuesday. The Cougars feature the league-leader in scoring as Samantha Sorokas has posted 28 points on 13 goals and two assists. Amanda Blank adds eight points on two goals and four helpers. Goalie Grace Riker has a 2.10 goals against average with 75 saves and three shutouts.
Following the contest, King's will welcome Eastern University Saturday for another important Freedom matchup scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium. The Eagles were the preseason favorite and currently sit at 12-2 overall and 3-0 in league play.
