King's Volleyball Splits a Pair of Matches at Wilkes University Tri-Match

KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS A PAIR OF MATCHES AT WILKES TRI-MATCH

 

WILKES-BARRE – The King's College volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Wilkes University tri-match on Saturday. The Lady Monarchs posted a 3-2 win in their first match against PSU-Berks, before dropping a 3-0 decision against Wilkes.

 

With the split, King's stands 6-13 overall and 1-5 in Freedom matches.

 

King's took the match against PSU-Berks by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, and 25-23. Heather Bowman led the attack with 11 kills and 21 digs. Emily Kline added 10 kills and two total blocks. Setter Kelly Greenway led the passing game with 27 assists and 16 digs, while Jillian Foster posted a team-high 34 digs.

 

In the match against Wilkes, King's fell in straight sets by scores of 15-25, 23-25, and 22-25. Bowman was tops again for the Lady Monarchs with nine kills and 11 digs. Kline followed with six kills and one solo block. Greenway posted 19 assists, while Foster contributed 18 digs.

 

King's will host their final Freedom match of the season when DeSales University visits Scandlon Gymnasium Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
