KING'S MEN'S SOCCER EARNS 3-0 SHUTOUT OVER JUNIATA COLLEGE

WILKES-BARRE – Three different Monarchs recorded goals and King's goalie Brandon Raynor made three saves to preserve the shutout as King's College posted a 3-0 victory over non-conference foe Juniata College Tuesday night.

King's improves to 8-4 overall, its second straight win over the past four days. Juniata drops to 7-5 on the year.

Dan Horn put King's on the board just before the end of the first half when he scored off a crossing pass from Alex Martino at the 41:18 mark. King's would add two more scores in the second frame, as Martino would put home a ball deflected off Eagles' goalie Brian Trinclisti for a 2-0 lead. Tim Meyer would end any type of Juniata comeback when he chipped in a ball over Trinclisti thanks to a Max Allegro helper to give the Monarchs a 3-0 lead they would never relinquish.

King's held a 11-5 shot advantage, while garnering three corner kicks throughout. Raynor finished with three saves in net to preserve the victory, recording his third shutout of the season. Trinclisti made two stops for Juniata.

King's will continue their home stretch Saturday during homecoming weekend when they welcome Delaware Valley College to McCarthy Stadium for a Freedom tilt scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
