KING'S SOCCER TEAMS HOSTING DELAWARE VALLEY ON HOMECOMING WEEKEND
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College men's and women's soccer teams will return to Freedom Conference play this weekend during the college's homecoming festivities. The men's squad faces Delaware Valley Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium, while the Lady Monarchs welcome the Aggies Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.

The King's men's team stands 8-4 overall and 1-0 in conference matches following a 3-0 shutout victory over Juniata College on Tuesday. Joey Bender tops the team with 15 points on five goals and five assists. Alex Martino follows with 11 points on five goals and one helper. Monarch goalie Andrew O'Shura boasts a 0.81 goals against average with 20 saves and two shutouts in net for King's.
The Delaware Valley men's team enters the contest with a 5-5-1 overall record and 0-1 in Freedom play following a 1-0 loss at Wesley College on Monday. Tyler Yankovich and Eric Devlin lead the Aggies attack with 10 points each on four goals and two assists apiece. Aggies keeper Tristan Preece has a 1,44 goals against average with 46 saves and three shutouts in 11 matches in net.
The King's women's team stands 1-11 overall and 0-1 in conference play after suffering a 5-0 loss at Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday. Becky Chateauneuf leads the offensive attack with 15 points on five goals and five assists. Jade Zuniga contributes 12 points on five goals and two helpers, while Holly Spikol adds six points on two goals and two assists. Lady Monarchs goalie Melissa D'Aniello has a 4.79 goals against average with 23 saves in five matches.
The Delaware Valley women's squad enters the match with a 3-8-1 overall mark and stand 0-1 in Freedom play following a 3-0 loss at the University of Scranton on Wednesday. Dana Gentile and Johanna Lovallo lead the Aggies with seven points each. Gentile posts three goals and an assist, while Lovallo contributes two goals and three helpers. Goalie Julie Burnell has a 1.72 goals against average with 54 saves in 11 match for Delaware Valley.
Following the weekend's games, the King's men's squad with return to action Tuesday when they travel to Misericordia University for another Freedom tilt scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The women's team will be back on the field Wednesday at Misericordia at 7:00 p.m.
