King's Wrestlers fall to 12th Ranked TCNJ

MONARCH WRESTLERS FALL TO 12TH RANKED TCNJ
 
EWING, NJ -- The brutal early season dual meet schedule once again caught up to the King's College wrestling team as the Monarchs dropped a 42-3 decision to 12th ranked College of New Jersey Wednesday night in Ewing, NJ.

With the loss, King's fell to 0-9 while TCNJ improved to 4-0. Six of the Monarchs losses have come at the hands of teams ranked in the Top-30 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

King's lone winner came at 141-pounds when Monarch junior Anthony Dietrick posted a 9-2 decision over Enrique Romero.

In the best match of the night featuring two of the top wrestlers in the nation, third-ranked Mike Reilly of King's and fourth-ranked Mike Denver from TCNJ squared off at 184 pounds. The pair battled through a scoreless opening period before Reilly led 2-0 after two periods. The pair combined for 12 points in the third with Denver scoring the last five points for a 9-5 victory. The loss dropped Reilly to 12-1 on the year.

King's returns to the mats Friday and Saturday at the Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament in Rochester, NY.
