KING'S BASEBALL FALLS TO DESALES
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College baseball team dropped an 11-3 decision to visiting DeSales University Thursday at Lipo Field.
With the loss, King's slipped to 10-5 overall and 5-2 in Freedom Conference play. DeSales, meanwhile, stands at 11-5 and 7-0.
Derek Moyer led the Bulldogs by going 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI. Chad Zucchi followed at 3-for-4 with two runs.
Chris Sweeney led King's with a 3-for-4 showing while Joey Troxell finished 2-for-4 with a run. Starter Eric Matula (2-1) took the loss for the Monarchs, yielding five earned runs with four strikeouts. Derek Drinks was the winner for DeSales, allowing five hits and one earned run in seven innings.
King's will travel to Center Valley on Monday to face DeSales in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. DeSales will be running LiveStats at the following link:
