KING'S TENNIS FALLS TO FIRST-PLACE WILKES
WILKES-BARRE -- Visiting Wilkes University swept every match as the Colonels showed why they stand in first-place in the Freedom Conference with a 9-0 decision over King's College Wednesday at Kirby Park.
With the win, Wilkes improved to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the Freedom Conference while the Monarchs slipped to 5-7 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Wilkes captured the opening three singles bouts before moving on to singles. There, the Colonels won all six contests without losing more than two sets in any match.
The Monarchs return to action Friday with a 3:00 p.m. contest against Eastern University in St. David's.
