KING'S BASEBALL HOSTING FDU-FLORHAM ON FRIDAY IN KEY CONFERENCE GAME, VIEW LIVESTATS
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College baseball team's quest to qualify for the Freedom Conference playoffs continue with a key three-game against FDU-Florham beginning today when the Monarchs host the Devils in a 3:30 p.m. matchup at Lipo Field in the Robert L. Betzler Athletic Complex. The two teams will meet again Saturday as the Monarchs travel to Madison, NJ for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.

King's enters the series with a 18-10 overall record and a 10-5 conference mark after picking up a 11-3 victory over the University of Scranton on Wednesday. FDU-Florham has a 24-5 overall mark while having a 12-3 league record after picking up the 12-6 victory over Lehman College on Wednesday.
Senior catcher Matt Unger paces King's with a .400 (38-95) average with seven doubles, three triples, one home run and 27 RBI. Freshman Chris Sweeney follows at .398 (35-88) with 14 doubles, four home runs, one triple and 20 RBI. Sophomore outfielder Brian Mikus stands at .388 (31-80) with six doubles, three triples and 19 RBI. Senior Jeremy Bonser hits .375 (21-56) with six doubles, one triple, one home run and 12 RBI. Freshman Joey Troxell adds a .300 (27-90) average with five doubles, one triple and 16 RBI.
Leading the way on the mound thus far is senior Eric Matula who is 4-1 with a 3.73 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 41 innings. Junior Tommy Rozelle is 4-2 with a 4.15 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 34.2 innings. Senior Dan Jenkins is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 15 innings.
FDU-Florham is led by Marc Hubert who has a .427 (38-89) average with nine doubles, five home runs and 33 RBI. Matt Joiner stands at .376 (35-93) with six doubles, three triples, one home run and 16 RBI. The pitching staff is led by Glenn Cox who is 5-1 with a 3.32 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 47.1 innings of work.
