KING'S BASEBALL FALLS TO SUNY NEW PALTZ
WILKES-BARRE - - The King's College baseball team dropped an 14-4 decision to visiting SUNY New Paltz Tuesday at Lipo Field.
With the loss King's slipped to 11-7 overall record, while SUNY New Paltz improved to 12-6.
Thomas Pinnola led the Hawks with a 4-for-5 showing with one RBI. Clinton Boettcher followed at 3-for-5 with two RBI.
Mike Fignar led King's with a 3-for-4 showing while Matt Unger finished 2-for-5 with a RBI. Starter Bobby Buttafogo (0-2) took the loss for the Monarchs, yielding six earned runs. Timmy Chelius was the winner for SUNY New Paltz, allowing six hits and one earned run in five innings.
The Monarchs will return to action on Friday when King's host conference foe Delaware Valley College at 3:00 p.m. at the Betzler Athletic Complex.
