BOYERTOWN –  After dropping the opening round game of the Freedom Conference Tournament to top-seeded DeSales University on Friday, the King's College baseball team will attempt to take the long road to winning its second conference title since 2006, and the automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament that comes with it.

King's will resume its quest on Saturday at Bear Stadium in Boyertown. The Monarchs begin the must-win portion of the double-elimination tournament when King's faces second-seeded FDU-Florham in an elimination game Saturday at 11:00 a.m.  Simply put, the winner advances and the loser goes home.

The Monarchs fell to DeSales 19-10 on Wednesday while the Devils lost 10-6 on their home field to third-seeded Manhattanville the same day. The opening round results set the stage for phase-two of the tournament. After King's and FDU play, DeSales and Manhattanville will square off at 3:00 p.m.   The King's-FDU winner will then play the DeSales-Manhattanville loser in an elimination game at 7:00 p.m.  The event will continue on Sunday with the championship set for 12:00 p.m.
