Men's Soccer Drops Season Opener at New Paltz

KING'S MEN'S SOCCER DOWNED BY NEW PALTZ, 5-1

 

NEW PALTZ, NY –  Host SUNY-New Paltz broke open a close game with four second half goals as the Hawks posted a 5-1 season-opening victory over King's College in a non-conference matchup in New Paltz, NY.

Mike Ackerman, Harrison Lane, and David Gardiner all finished with one goal and one assist to pace the Hawks. The Monarchs lone score came on a New Paltz own goal at 67:54.

 

The Hawks outshot King's 20-6 and held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. Monarch freshman goalie Mark Labbadia made five stops for the Monarchs.

 

King's will make its home debut Saturday and Sunday at McCarthy Stadium. King's hosts Penn State Hazleton Saturday at 1:00 p.m. before entertaining Potsdam State Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
