KING'S FIELD HOCKEY REGISTERS A 5-1 VICTORY OVER NEUMANN
ASTON – Calli Berryman scored two goals with an assist and Shawna Walp added one goal and one assist as the King's College field hockey team posted a 5-1 victory over host Neumann University Tuesday in Aston.
With the win King's improved to 4-1 while Neumann slipped to 0-5.
King's opened the scoring 12:08 into the contest when Berryman scored unassisted. The Lady Monarchs took a 2-0 halftime lead when Walp scored off an assist from Berryman at 31:10.
In the second half, Jenera Quinones struck net off an assist from Walp just 3:48 into the final stanza. Berryman scored again at 55:53 to make the score 4-0. The Lady Monarchs scored a fifth unanswered goal just 1:45 later when Michelle Schmidt tallied an unassisted goal.
Neumann got on the board with a Chelsea O'Donnell goal with 2:06 left in the contest.
King's dominated the game statistically, outshooting Neumann 26-2 and held a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners.
The Lady Monarchs host Elizabethtown College Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in McCarthy Stadium.
