WILKES-BARRE –The King's College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision against visiting Delaware Valley College in both team's Freedom Conference opener Wednesday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the loss King's slips to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while Delaware Valley improves to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in conference matches.
The Aggies took the match in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-23. Senior Emily Kline led the attack with 14 kills, one solo block, and two block assists. Junior Colleen Grosenick followed with seven kills and one solo block. Sophomore Heather Bowman chipped in with five kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Kelly Greenway finished with a team-best 26 assists.
Ashley Mikulsky led the Aggies with 10 kills and 19 digs. Kaitlyn Olsen added eight kills and two solo blocks, Janel Gluch contributed seven kills and one solo block. Setter Amy Scordato finished with a match-high 33 assists.
King's will return to action Tuesday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Eastern University for a Freedom Conference tilt scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
