SCRANTON – The King's College field hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the second half to erase a one-goal halftime deficit on way to a 3-1 win at the University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon. The victory marks the fourth straight win for the Lady Monarchs.

Following the win, King's improves to 5-1 overall while Scranton drops to 3-3 on the season.

Scranton would take a 1-0 lead 31:42 into the contest off a corner shot from Elizabeth Mauer. King's would respond after the break with three unanswered goals, as Calli Berryman would tap in a loose ball off a Jackie Sikora shot at 49:11 to tie the game at 1-1. Four minutes later, King's would take the lead when Shawna Walp would find the back of the net off a Berryman assist. The Lady Monarchs would add an insurance marker a minute later as Jenera Quinones would put home a rebound to seal the 3-1 non-conference win.

King's held a 21-5 shot advantage, while garnering 13 penalty corners. King's goalie Erin McGinley finished with two saves to record the win in net, while Scranton's Alexandria Marandino made eight stops.

King's will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Glenside, Pa. to face Arcadia University at 4:00 p.m.
