GLENSIDE, PA – Senior Danielle Terracciano and junior Jenera Quinones scored three minutes apart to propel the King's College field hockey team to a 2-0 shutout victory at Arcadia University Wednesday night at Blankley Field.
King's records their fifth straight win of the season moving their overall mark to 6-1. Arcadia falls to 5-3 overall on the year.
Terracciano broke open a scoreless game just before the half when she scored off a penalty corner at 34:30. Quinones added the insurance marker just two minutes into the second half (37:51) to seal the non-conference win for the Lady Monarchs. In a tight contest throughout, King's held a slight 18-17 advantage in shots, while holding a 9-8 advantage in penalty corners.
Senior goalie Erin McGinley made four stops in net for King's, recording her third shutout of the season. Arcadia's Sarah Baumgardner and Marissa Perez split time in goal with seven combined saves.
King's will return to action Saturday when they welcome FDU-Florham to McCarthy Stadium to open Freedom Conference play at 1:00 p.m.
