SCRANTON, PA – The King's College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Marywood University in the Lady Monarchs first road test of 2010 on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss King's slips to 1-1 overall on the young season.
The host Pacers took the contest in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-11, and 25-20. Senior Emily Kline (Andreas, PA/Lehighton Area) led the offensive attack with seven kills. Kasia Lupkowski (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) followed with four kills and seven digs, while Heather Bowman (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) added a team-high 14 digs. Senior setter Kelly Greenway (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity) dished out 12 assists.
King's will return to the court Friday and Saturday when they play in the Scranton Volleyball Invitational next weekend. The Lady Monarchs will face Marywood University at 6:00 p.m., before playing the host University of Scranton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday night.
