KING'S SWIMMERS SPLIT WITH ARCADIA, MESSIAH

WILKES-BARRE –  The King's College women's and men's swim teams split results Saturday in a tri-match against visiting Messiah College and Arcadia University.  The women defeated Arcadia 88-33 but fell to Messiah 76-45. The men, meanwhile, fell to Messiah 82-32 while also dropping a 77-34 verdict to Arcadia.

 

In the women's 200 freestyle, Maggie Nealer touched first at 2:06.53. She also captured the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:41.15. In the 200 individual medley, Nealer finished third with a 2:32.87.

In the women's 1,000-freestyle, Becca Smith placed first with a time of 11:57.02.  In the women's 100-freestyle, Smith was second at 100.74 while also placing second in the 500 freestyle with a 5:55.10.

 

In the women's 100-backstroke, Amanda Casey finished second with a time of 1:09.30. In the women's 100 butterfly, Caitlyn Casey placed second at 1:11.56

 

In the women's 100-breaststroke, Patricia Manning won the event with a 1:14.46  She also captured the 200-breast stroke with a time of 2:36.83. In the 200 individual medley, Manning was second at 2:21.32.

 

The women's 200 medley relay team of Amanda Casey, Caitlin Casey, Krystna Homanko, and Stephanie Hughes were second with a time of 2:10.40

 

In the women's 400-freestyle relay, King's team of Smith, Manning, Nealer, and Caitlin Casey were second with a time of 4:05.28.

 

In the men's events, Eric Stencovage won the 50-freestyle with a time of 24:02. He was also second in the 100-breaststroke at 1:04.69 as well as In the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:28.26.

 

In the 200-butterfly, Justin Weilert placed second at 2:22.91. The 100 freestyle event saw, Jack Harrington place second with a time of 55:29. In the 500-freestyle, Joshua DeBellas  placed second with a time of 6:03.10.
