KING'S GRAPPLERS FALL AT LYCOMING, 31-11
WILLIAMSPORT – Host Lycoming College raced out to a 28-0 lead en route to a 31-11 victory over King's College in NCAA Division III wrestling matchup Thursday in Williamsport.
The Warriors won the first seven bouts, using a pin, a technical fall, and two major decisions to jump out to a commanding lead.
King's junior standout Mike Reilly, ranked fourth nationally at 184-pounds, ended the drought when he upped his season ledger to 18-1 with a 15-0 technical fall over Tyler Cunningham. The other Monarch victory came at 285 where King's Kevin Trant held a 2-0 lead before winning by injury default over Zach Eckstrom.
The Monarchs also came out on the short end of a pair of overtime matches as Frank Marinucci dropped a 5-3 verdict to David Smith at 165, while Peter Dwyer was edged 3-1 in extra time.
King's will be idle until Thursday when the Monarchs host Elizabethtown College at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
