King's Women's Basketball Remains Perfect In Freedom Play With 85-42 Win Over FDU-Florham

KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL REMAINS PERFECT IN FREEDOM PLAY WITH 85-42 WIN OVER FDU-FLORHAM

MADISON, N.J. -- Eleven different Lady Monarchs hit the scoring column on way to an 85-42 victory over host FDU-Florham Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference play.

With the win King's improves to 9-5 overall and remains perfect in Freedom play at 3-0. FDU-Florham drops to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in conference games.

King's, who never trailed in the contest, opened up a 21-10 lead midway through the first half following a Katlin Michaels transition layup and three-pointer from Lindsay Atchison. The lead swelled to 16 points, 30-14, when Celia Rader connected from long range and four straight points inside the paint from Molly Dahl. The Lady Monarchs continued to hit on all cylinders offensively, taking a 46-26 advantage to the break.

King's continued to dominate on both ends of the floor in the second frame, leading by as many as 43 points throughout. The Lady Monarchs shot a season best 47.1 percent (32-68) from the floor as well as connecting on 60.0 percent (12-20) of their attempts from behind the arc. King's also held a huge advantage on the boards out-rebounding the Devils 54-40, including 14 on the offensive end.

Dahl paced King's with 14 points and six rebounds. Junior Paige Carlin followed with 11 points and five rebounds, while Rader finished with 10 points. Michaels, Carissa Gegaris, and Atchison added eight points each, while Brittany Muscatell enjoyed a solid all-around effort with six points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Kandace Johnson led FDU-Florham with 12 points. Shaleah Alston followed with eight points and four rebounds.

King's will continue in Freedom play when they host Delaware Valley College Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.
