Quinones Scores Two Goals with One Assist and Moves to 3rd in King's Field Hockey Record Books with 3-0 Win Over Marywood

SCRANTON -- Reigning Freedom Conference "Player of the Year" Jenera Quinones scored two goals and assisted on another as the King's College field hockey team completed a 3-0 victory over host Marywood University Monday in Scranton.

The game was originally played on September but was suspended due to lightening with King's leading 2-0 early in the second half. With the win, King's improved to 6-3 while Marywood
slipped to 2-8.

When the game started on September 7, King's took a 1-0 lead off an assist from Megan Mundy 11:34 into the game. The Lady Monarchs reached the scoreboard at the 18:25 mark when Calli
Berryman converted a pass from Quinones as the Lady Monarchs took a 2-0 lead at the halftime break.

The teams resumed play in the second half but just 2:12 into the final period lightening forced both teams off the field. The game was eventually suspended and rescheduled
for resumption today.

When the contest continued the score remained 2-0 until Quinones pushed across the final goal on an unassisted tally with just 4:08 remaining.

With her two scores, Quinones tied Kelly Poncheri
for third-place in the Lady Monarchs record books with 53 career goals. By scoring five points in the game, Quinones also moved into the third spot on King's career scoring list with 132 points.

Quinones also posted her 26th career assist, moving to within one of equaling Christina Glenn's mark of 27 for third-place on King's career assist mark.

King's finished the game with a decided 15-1 advantage in shots while owning a dominating 13-2 led in penalty corners. Megan Withrow
made one save for King's to pick up the win while Marywood keeper Jamie Bowman posted four stops.
