WILKES-BARRE -- Senior Mike Reilly became the eighth King's College wrestler to join the 100-win club by winning all three of his matches Saturday at the John Reese Duals.  The Monarchs lost a pair of matches to Plymouth State (21-19) and SUNY Cortland (28-15) before edging New York University (22-21).

The Monarchs wrestled tough with Plymouth State after dropping the first three matches, losing a pair of decisions and an injury default.  Chris Mazzochi put the Monarchs on the board earning a 6-1 decision over Mike Wiley at 149. Jordan Jiunta scored a 16-8 major decision over Brandon Conrad by a score of 16-8.  At 174 Shane Stark earned a 5-2 decision over Daniel Curley.  Frank Marinucci knocked off Rob Phillips at 184 with a 4-3 decision. Reilly earned win no. 100 when he pinned Zac Giovanetti at 197. The match came down to the285-pound class where King's Brendan Dwyer, wrestling up a weight class, lost 5-1 to Jacob Gagnon 5-1 in overtime.

King's picked up wins in four bouts against SUNY Cortland.  Mazzochi earned a 9-3 decision at 149 over Brandon Guthrie.  Jiunta earned a 8-2 decision over Adam Willman at 157, while Stark continued to roll with a pin of William Maldonado at 174.  Reilly battled to a 5-4 overtime decision over Carl Korpi at 197.

Against New York University,  Mazzochi also picked up his third win of the day with an 11-4 decision against Matt Digiovanni. Jiunta picked up a 16-11 decision over Dan Goreman and Marinucci picked up a tight 9-8 victory over Jacob Segal. King's trailed 12 points going into the final two bouts of the night. Reilly earned his third win of the night on a pin of Steve Mossey and Dwyer pinned Rudy De La Cruz to help the Monarchs to a 21-21 tie. King's, however, was awarded the victory by a 22-21 count by virtue of the NCAA dual meet tie-breaking criteria. The Monarchs posted two pins in the meet compared to one for NYU, securing a bonuc criteria point for King's. 

The Monarchs are back in action next Saturday when they host SUNY Oneonta in Scandlon Gymnasium in a 1:00 p.m. start.
