King's Men's Basketball Travels to Penn College of Technology Tuesday for Season Opener

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The King's College men's basketball team travels to Williamsport to take on Penn College of Technology Tuesday night in their 2011-12 season opener at 7:00 p.m.

The Monarchs finished last season 15-10 overall and an even 7-7 in the Freedom Conference.  The Monarchs finished fifth in the conference despite two wins over the eventual conference champions Delaware Valley.

Sophomore Kyle Hammonds put up 13.1 points and 5.7 rebounds and a tea- high 33 steals on his way to earning Freedom Conference "Rookie of the Year" honors.  Junior guard Matt Fiorino chipped in 11.1 points per game.  Senior guard Kyle Stackhouse triggered the offense with a team-high 107 assists to go with 8.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

The Wildcats turned in a 14-12 record last season and allowed an average of 78.9 points per game while scoring 74.2 points per game themselves. 

The Penn College of Technology team returns only two players from a year ago. Bryant House averaged 5.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.  Ethan Kline added 4.0 points and 2.2 boards as well as 34 steals.
