King's Men's Basketball Suffers 87-60 Setback to Albright
Reading, PA-- Reuel Moore tallied 20 points for host Albright as they knocked off King's College 87-60 in men's basketball action Tuesday night at Albright's Bollman Center.
The teams played back and forth in the early going with King's (1-3) holding a slim 15-14 lead after a pair of
Donovan Womack free throws at the 8:30 mark in the first half. The Lions (3-0) responded with a 10-0 run over the next minute and a half to lead 24-15.
After the Monarchs pulled within four on a
Nick Reisig jumper, but closed out the half on a 25-8 run that gave them a 49-28 halftime lead. King's didn't get closer than 17 in the second half.
Kyle Stackhouse led the Monarch offense with 13 points as well as three rebounds and four assists.
Matt Fiorino chipped in 12 points and a pair of steals.
Kyle Hammonds added 11 points shooting 5-of-10 from the floor.
Shane Irwin joined Moore in double figures with 12 points as well as eight boards and five helpers. Derek Hall pulled in a game-high 10 rebounds to go with eight points.
The Monarchs open conference play next Wednesday when they travel to Delaware Valley. The game will tip-off at 8:00 p.m.
