King's Men's Basketball Takes on FDU-Florham in First Home Contest

Wilkes-Barre, PA-- After starting the season with five straight road games the King's College men's basketball team will finally come home to take on FDU-Florham Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Freedom Conference action.

The Monarchs won their conference opener against defending conference champion Delaware Valley 80-68 Wednesday night to move to 2-3 on the season and 1-0 in the Freedom Conference. The Devils are currently 1-3 overall and 1-0 after defeating DeSales 68-51.

King's has allowed 74.4 points per game this season and has scored 71 points per contest. FDU is being is holding teams to only 65 points but is only scoring 61.5 points per game.

Kyle Hammonds is backing up last season's Rookie of the Year honors by leading the Monarchs in scoring with 11.4 points per game on 24-of-45 shooting from the field. Senior guard Kyle Stackhouse has added 10.8 points, 4.8 boards and 3.6 dimes per contest.

Will Green paces the FDU offense averaging a double double with 14.5 points and 10 rebounds per game. Junior Derek Hall has chipped in 9.8 points and 9.3 boards per game. Adam Katz has shot the 3-pointer going 8-of-26 from beyond the arc averaging 9.5 points and 3.3 assists per game.

The Monarchs will see a familiar face on the opposing bench. Kevin Conroy, who was King's leading scorer last season and has his name all over the Monarch record books has joined the FDU coaching staff.
