BANGED UP KING'S GRAPPLERS FALL TO DELAWARE VALLEY, 41-9

DOYLESTOWN -- An injury-depleted King's College wrestling ventured to Doylestown Wednesday night and dropped a 41-9 decision to traditional NCAA Division III power Delaware Valley in a Metropolitan Conference matchup.

The Monarchs were forced to forfeit three weight classes and were short three other starters en route to falling behind 41-0 before wining the final two weight classes.

At 197, King's all-American Mike Reilly posted a pin in 2:56 over Joe Richard to improve his season mark to 12-1 with his 108th career win. He is one victory away from moving into fifth-place on the Monarchs' all-time victory list and will equal his older brother Jason Reilly's 109-win mark from 2004-07 with his next triumph.

At 285, junior Peter Dwyer tallied a hard-fought 3-1 decision over Zeke Pyle for the Monarchs' other victory. Dwyer improved to 6-2 on the year.

King's will be idle until January 7 when the Monarchs compete in the Pennsylvania/New York Duals at Lycoming College in Williamsport.
