Monarch Baseball Ends Spring Trip with Doubleheader Loss to Keystone

KING'S BASEBALL DROPS TWO TO KEYSTONE IN SPRING BREAK FINALE
 
ORLANDO -- The King's College baseball team wrapped up its spring break trip to Orlando by dropping a pair of games to Keystone College. The Monarchs fell by scores to 14-3 and 10-9 and will return home with a 3-7 record.
 
In the opener, Brenton Eades led the squad by going 2-for-2 with two RBI. Jared Turner and Chris Sweeney had one hit each while Rob Lemoncelli contributed with a RBI. Joey Troxell was the losing pitcher, allowing six earned runs in four innings with three strikeouts. Joe Dorbad pitched the final three innings, allowing three earned runs with two strikeouts.

In the nightcap Anthony Re was 2-for-3 with two runs and a RBI; Turner went 2-for-4 with two RBI; while Eades was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Lemoncelli was 2-for-5 with a runs scored while Troxell went 2-for-2 with two RBI.  Eades took the pitching loss, allowing five earned runs in four innings. Peter Fanning finished up, yielding one unearned run with one strikeout in two innings.

The Monarchs are scheduled to make their home debut Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m, contest against Lebanon Valley College at the Betzler Athletic Complex.
