King's Baseball Drops Two to Wittenberg in Spring Trip Opener

KING'S BASEBALL DROPS TWO TO WITTENBERG IN FLORIDA OPENER
 
LAKELAND, FLA -- The King's College baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Wittenberg College in the Monarchs spring trip opener Sunday in Winter Park, Fla. 
 
Wittenberg captured the first game 10-4 before taking the nightcap 13-3. With the sweep, King's slipped to 1-3 on the year.

In the opener, King's posted six base hits, leet by a three-run home run by Brian Mikus in the fourth inning. Brenton Eades was 2-for-2 while Anthony Re, Chris Sweeney, and Rob Lemoncelli chipped in one hit apiece.  Tommy Rozelle was the losing pitcher, allowing seven earned runs in two and one-third innings.

In the nightcap, King's registered three hits in the game. Cody Krupa was 1-for-3 with a run while Joey Troxell was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Sweeney also added a single for the Monarchs. Pat Matthews took the pitching loss, allowing 11 earned runs in five innings.
