MONARCH TENNIS SQUAD REGISTERS 6-3 WIN OVER FDU-FLORHAM TO CLINCH FREED OM CONFERENCE PLAYOFF BERTH
 
KINGSTON, PA -- The King's College men's tennis team built a 3-0 lead after doubles, then sealed the match by splitting the six singles bouts as the Monarchs earned a playoff-clinching 6-3 Freedom Conference victory over visiting FDU-Florham Saturday in the Kingston Indoor Tennis Center.

With the win, the Monarchs upped their overall record to 5-8 while improving to 2-2 in Freedom Conference competition.

King's started out strong as the team of Tony Bevevino and Mike Steinberger won a hard-fought 8-6 decision at number-one doubles. Tim Carroll and Jake Rohring teamed for an 8-2 victory while the third King's team of Chris DiMino and P.T. Romano were 8-1 victoros in the third flight.

In singles, Bevevino won an important three-set match at second singles with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph. Rohring added a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles, while DiMino also posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the number six spot.
