Wilkes-Barre, PA-- It took an extra period to settle but the King's College field hockey team earned a 1-0 overtime win over visiting University of Scranton at McCarthy Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Senior captain
Shawna Walp delivered the game winner 10:35 into the overtime period on a penalty corner that was put into play by
Kim Howanitz.
The Lady Monarchs outshot the Royals 19-12 including getting seven shots from
Jenera Quinones and four from
Calli Berryman.
King's goalkeeper
Megan Withrow picked up her second consecutive shutouts making four saves.
The Lady Monarchs are back in action Sunday when they host No. 20 Montclair State at 1:00 pm at McCarthy Stadium.
