Latrobe, PA-- The King's College men's soccer team rallied in the second half to earn a 2-0 victory over Saint Vincent College in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Monarchs improved to 4-0-1. on the year.
After a scoreless first half the Monarchs finally got on the board at the 70:30 mark on a penalty kick by
Joey Bender, his second in as many days.
Bender netted an insurance tally when he dribbled around a defender and chipped the ball over the keepers head at 87:47.
The King's defense picked up their fifth shutout of the season keyed by goalkeeper
Brandon Raynor. Raynor made six saves and improved his record to 1-0.
The Monarchs return home on Tuesday when they host SUNY College at Old Westbury in a make-up from a game originally schedule for September 11 and postponed due to the area flooding fron Hurricane Irene. The game will be at 6:30 pm at McCarthy Stadium.
