KING'S WOMEN PREP FOR WILKES WITH 70-53 WIN AT KEYSTONE IN FINAL NON-CONFERENCE GAME OF THE YEAR, DONOGHUE EARNS 100TH WIN AT KING'S

LaPLUME -- The King's College women's basketball team prepped for its upcoming matchup with cross-town rival Wilkes University by posting a 70-53 victory over host Keystone College Monday night in LaPlume.

With the win, King's improved to 12-3 on the year with its fifth straight victory and in the process got coach Brian Donoghue his 100th win at King's. Keystone, meanwhile, saw its own six-game win streak come to an end as the Lady Giants slipped to 6-8.

King's managed a 37-31 halftime lead as the Lady Monarchs canned seven three-pointers and received 11 points from Samantha Simcox over the game's opening 20 minutes. King's took its biggest lead of the first half when Celia Rader made three straight foul shots on back-to-back possessions with 4:44 on the clock to push the score to 31-19.

In the second half King's continued to control play and built its biggest lead of the game at 21 points when a driving lay-up by Marissa Manning and a pair of free throws from Simcox pushed the lead to 63-42 with 8:02 to play. With King's coach Brian Donoghue substituting liberally, Keystone would draw no closer than 13 points the rest of the way.

Muscatell scored 15 points, including a trio three-pointers while adding six rebounds and three assists. Rader also netted 15 points with four three-pointers and five boards. Simcox tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists while Katlin Michaels chipped in with four points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Keystone was led by Alyssa Cuomo with 15 points while Tiana Cuttion followed with 14 points and nine boards.
