KING'S GRAPPLERS FALL TO LYCOMING, 29-10
WILKES-BARRE — Lycoming College won six of the nine matches wrestled and added a forfeit win as the visiting Warriors posted a 29-10 victory over host King's College in a Division III matchup Thursday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
Lycoming won decision at 125 and 133 before tallying a major decision at 141 to build a 10-0 lead. The Monarchs got on the board when
Chris Mazzocchi earned a 4-0 decision at 149.
After the Warriors won the next two bouts with a decision and major decision to up the lead to 17-3, King's countered with a major decision by
Shane Stark at 174 to trim the lead to 17-7. With King's all-American
Mike Reilly sidelined with an injury, the Monarchs were forced to forfeit at 184-pounds. At 197, Lycoming added six more points when Russel Korbul posted a pin to increase the Warrior lead to 29-7. King's won the final match at 285 when
Peter Dwyer garnered a 4-0 decision.
King's will return to the mats Sunday with a tri-meet at the University of Scranton. King's will wrestle Yeshiva University at 1:30 p.m. Before meeting Scranton at 3:00 p.m. The Monarchs will then host their final dual meet season of the year on Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Contest with Oneonta State.
