King's Men's Basketball Hosts DeSales in Freedom Conference Tilt
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's basketball team looks to snap their three-game losing skid when the Monarchs host DeSales University in an important Freedom Conference matchup Saturday at Scandlon Gymnasium at 3:00 p.m.

As the Freedom Conference begins its second sycle of games, the Monarchs stand at 8-10 overall and 3-4 in league competition after a heartbreaking, last-second 62-60 home loss to Misericordia on Wednesday. The Bulldogs improved to 10-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference with a 71-67 victory over Manhattanville. Both teams are tied with FDU-Florham for third-place, one game out of the final playoff spot in the Freedom Conference.
In their first meeting this year, DeSales defended its home court with a 78-67 victory. Sophomore guard-forward
Kyle Hammonds turned in 18 points to lead the Monarchs, while Mike Coleman posted 19 for the Bulldogs. The DeSales win allowed the Bulldogs to take a 25-22 in the all-time series between the two squads.
Hammonds is King's leading scorer this season with 12.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Freshman forward
Keyton Winder has chipped in 10.2 points and 4.2 boards per game in his freshman campaign. Senior point guard
Kyle Stackhouse has been versatile for the Monarchs, averaging 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. His 2.6 assists-to-turnover ratio is tops in the Freedom Conference.
Junior guard
Matt Fiorino has hit 37 three-pointers on his way to a 9.2 points per game average. Freshman forward
Tim O'Shea has come on strong averaging 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and a team-high 11 blocks. Fellow rookie forward
Mike Foster chips in with 6.3 points and 23 three-pointers.
The Monarchs average 72.7 points per game aided by their three point shooting as KIng's has hit on 123-of-338 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs are turning in 69.0 points per contest.
The Bulldog offense is paced by junior Brett Myers with 15.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Coleman has added 11.2 points, 3.2 boards and 2.5 dimes per contest. Senior Bob Zanneo averages 10.6 points per contest while hitting 37-of-98 triples. Sophomore Kyle Hash is averaging 9.5 points and 4.8 boards per game.
After Saturday's game the Monarchs go on the road for a pair conference games at Eastern on Wednesday and FDU-Florham on Saturday.
