KING'S FIELD HOCKEY BLANKED BY DREW 2-0
MADISON, NJ -- The host Drew University scored once in each half and kept the King's College field hockey team off the scoreboard for the first time this season as the Rangers posted a 2-0 victory Wednesday in Madison, NJ.
With the win, Drew improved to 10-2 while the Lady Monarchs slipped to 8-6 while suffering their third straight loss.
Sarah Charles opened the scoring for Drew with just 0:03 left in the first half. The Rangers tallied the final goal 6:21 into the second stanza.
Drew outshot King's, which played without leading scorer Calli Berryman, by a 20-10 margin while owning a 7-6 advantage in penalty corners.
King's goalie Megan Withrow made seven saves while Drew keeper posted Christiana Carlino had four stops.
The Lady Monarchs return to action Friday night when King's hosts FDU-Florham in a Freedom Conference matchup in the Betzler Athletic Complex.
