KING'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS MANHATTANVILLE, 3-0

PURCHASE, NY -- The King's College women's volleyball team won its first Freedom Conference match of the year as the Lady Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over host Manhattanville College Wednesday in Purchase, NY.

King's won by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 28-26 to secure the win. In the process the Lady Monarchs improved to 6-15 overall and 1-4 in the Freedom Conference. Manhattanville
, meanwhile, slipped to 8-16 and 1-4.

After winning the first two games handily, Manhattanville
had match points at 24-22 in game-three. But King's rallied to tie the score at 24-24 and again at 25-25. After the Valiants took a 26-25 lead, King's rattled off three straight point to seal the victory on a kill by Alexa Nelson.

Nelson led the
Lady Monarchs with 12 kills and two blocks while Mary Loughran dished out 27 assists with nine digs and four kills. Molly Dahl contributed seven kills and five digs while Elen O'Donnell tallied four kills and 12 digs. Jillian Foster posted 25 digs while Kaleigh Brady had 14 digs. Katie Senunas chipped in with four serves aces.

The Lady Monarchs idle until Tuesday when King's travels to St. Davids
to play defending Freedom champion Eastern University at 7:00 p.m.
