Lady Monarch Swimmers Open Season with 153-108 Victory over Marywood

Kimmie Brino and
Patricia Manning each scored a pair of individual wins and the Lady Monarchs tallied a pair of relay first place finishes to help King's open its season with a 153-108 over Marywood Friday night.
The Lady Monarchs got off the blocks fast scoring a first place finish in the opening event the 200 medley relay. McLin, Manning,
Macawley Brown and Brino finished in a time of 1:59.82.
McLin swept the backstroke events touching the wall in a time of 31:27 in the 50 and 1:06.75 in the 100. She also scored a second place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.08. Manning tallied top finishes in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:23.21 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.55.
Freshman
Hailey Moorehead finished the 50 breaststroke in a time of 33.57 good for a first place finish. Brino came in first in the 100 fly and 100 free in times of 1:05.49 and 59.04 respectively.
Caroline Fitch garnered a second place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:57.61.
Shannon Johnson also grabbed a second place finish with a 6:01.70 in the 500 free. The team of Brino,
Rachel Jonas, Fitch and Brown scored a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:49.54.
The Lady Monarchs are back in action on Saturday when they make the trip to Madison, N.J. when they take on Drew University at 1:00 p.m.
