KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS AT MAC CROSS-OVER MEET
READING -- The King's College women's volleyball team went 1-1 at the MAC Crossover Meet Saturday at Alvernia University in Reading.
In its first match King's defeated Alvernia 3-1 by scores of 17-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23. In its second match the Lady Monarchs lost to Arcadia 3-0 by scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-22. With the split, King's stands at 4-15 on the year.
Against Alvernia, Elen O'Donnel had 10 kills, four digs, and two service aces while Alexa Nelson also added 10 kills wth two blocks. Molly Dahl added seven kills and three digs while Kaleigh Brady also posted seven kills with seven digs. Mary Loughran dished our 32 assists with 12 digs while Jillian Foster tallied 18 digs.
In the match with Arcadia, Nelson topped the Lady Monarchs with 10 kills and two digs while Loughran distributed 20 assists with five digs and three kills. O'Donnell contributed four kills and four digs while Foster added 13 kills.
Foster's 31 digs for the day moves her into eighth-place all-time at King's with 1,081 digs. During the day she surpassed Aimee Coleman, who had 1,051 from 1998-2001 and Diane Lucas, who posted 1,071 from 2002-05.
King's will be at home on Monday when the Lady Monarchs host Keystone College at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
