KING'S VOLLEYBALL EDGES KEYSTONE, 3-2
WILKES-BARRE — The King's College volleybal rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat visiting Keystone College 3-2 Monday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
The Lady Monarchs won by scores of 25-16, 23-25, 27-29, 26-24, 15-13 to improve to 5-15 on the year. Keystone, meanwhile, fell to 1-18.
King's battled back from match-point in the fourth set, trailing 24-23 but rallied to secure the win and send the match to the deciding fifth set. In the final game King's led 14-13 before Lady Monarch setter
Mary Loughran ended the game with a kill at the net.
Alexa Nelson led King's with 14 kills while Loughran added 35 assists, 14 digs, and seven kills.
Molly Dahl tallied 12 kills with seven digs while
Kelsie Kramer contributed eight kills.
Elen O'Donnell had six kills and nine digs while
Jillian Foster tallied 16 digs.
Kaleigh Brady and
Alyssa Powell chipped in with seven and five digs respectively.
For Keystone, Shelby Morgan had 20 kills and 14 digs while Karley Caines added 10 kills and five digs. Carol Mosier chipped in with 32 assists.
King's returns to action Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Purchase, NY to face Manhattanville College in a 7:00 p.m. Freedom Conference matchup.
