Monarch Men Looking to Rebound Monday against Muhlenberg

KING'S MEN TO HOST MUHLENBERG MONDAY NIGHT

WILKES-BARRE – The King's College men's basketball team will return to the court Monday when the Monarchs play host to Muhlenberg College in a non-conference matchup at 8:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Monarchs enter the contest with a 2-1 mark after dropping a 103-74 decision to undefeated Albright College Tuesday night. King's had previously won the Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament at Susquehanna University. Muhlenberg enters the contest with a 1-2 overall record and 0-1 Centennial Conference mark after dropping a 66-52 to perennial league contender Gettysburg College.

The teams last played two seasons ago with the Muhlenberg posting a 61-53 victory on its home court.

King's has been led thus far by the play of sophomore Tim O'Shea who posts a team-high 10.7 points per-game while adding 2.5 rebounds. Senior point-guard Matt Fiorino follows with 10.0 points, and 2.7 assists while connecting on seven three-pointers. Sophomore forward Keyton Winder adds 9.0 points and 5.7 rebounds while junior guard Kyle Hammonds has tallied 8.3 points and 2.3 boards with five three-pointers.

Freshmen center Tom Heston has contributed 6.3 points and 4.7 rebounds while sophomore guard Mike Foster chips in with 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds. The Monarchs have averaged 59.6 points while yielding 66.0 each contest.

Muhlenberg has been paced by sophomore guard Malique Killing with 12.7 points with seven assists while sophomore forward A.J. Dean follows with 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds. Junior 6-foot-10 center Kevin Hargrove adds 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds while junior guard Alec Stavetski chips in with 7.3 points and 2.0 boards. The Mules average 60.0 points while yielding 63.3 points per-game.

After their game with Muhlenberg, the Monarchs will open its 2012-13 Freedom Conference schedule at home on Wednesday with an 8:00 p.m. matchup against Delaware Valley College in Scandlon Gym.
