Lady Monarch Basketball Hosts Delaware Valley in Freedom Conference Opener
Wilkes-Barre, Pa.—The King's College women's basketball team looks to bounce back from an 80-70 loss to Gwynedd-Mercy on Monday when they host Delaware Valley at 6:00 p.m. in the Freedom Conference opener for both teams.

The Lady Monarchs, who finished 13-1 in the Freedom Conference last year, are 2-2 after dropping back to back games to Gwynedd-Mercy and Scranton.
Delaware Valley improved to 1-2 on the season with a 63-51 victory over Rowan on Monday. The Aggie finished 3-11 in league play last year.
Through four games the Monarchs have been led by the play of senior guards
Celia Rader and
Katlin Michaels. Rader leads the team in scoring averaging 19.0 points while shooting 18-of-42 from beyond the arc. Michaels has done a little bit of everything for King's scoring 15.8 points while dishing out 7.8 assists and grabbing 6.8 rebounds per contest. Sophomore
Marissa Manning leads the front line with 14.0 points and a team-leading nine swats. Senior forward
Lindsay Atchison has added 9.8 points and 7.0 rebounds.
The Monarchs have received valuable contributions from senior
Molly Dahl and
Ashley Davies. Dahl has scored 5.5 points and grabbed 3.3 rebounds per contest. Davies is the Lady Monarchs leading rebound with 7.8 boards per game.
Freshman guard Eireann Anastasi leads the Delaware Valley offense with 19.0 points per game while pulling down 5.0 rebounds per contest. Brenna Coll has chipped in 12.3 points and 6.7 boards per game. Senior Emily Soper is coming off a first-team All-Freedom Conference selection and leads the Aggies with 8.0 rebounds per game as well as 11.0 points.
After the matchup with the Aggies, King's will travel to FDU-Florham for a Freedom Conference showdown with the Devils.
